The Ceremony Was Delayed
At 4 p.m., guests were seated.
But there was no bride or groom.
At 4:15, the coordinator made an announcement about a delay.
At 4:30, Daniel returned to Megan’s dressing room.
Megan stood up.
“Are we doing this?”
Daniel looked at her.
“I don’t know.”
Her face changed.
“You don’t know?”
“I need to know that my daughter isn’t going to spend the next ten years feeling like she’s the temporary part of our family.”
“She won’t.”
“But today she did.”
Megan stepped closer.
“I made one mistake.”
Daniel nodded.
“Yes.”
“One.”
“I know.”
“And you’re going to throw away our entire relationship because of one mistake?”
That was the question that divided everyone later.
