But the Fight Wasn’t Over
Patricia followed Ethan away from the ceremony area.
Rachel couldn’t hear everything.
But she heard enough.
“You always take her side.”
Ethan stopped.
“This isn’t sides.”
“It is now.”
“Mom.”
“You used to care what I thought.”
Ethan responded:
“I still do.”
“Then why does everything she wants automatically win?”
Rachel froze.
This argument was no longer about one chair.
It was about Patricia’s place in Ethan’s life.
And apparently, she had been carrying that resentment for much longer than Rachel realized.
Emma Wanted Patricia Removed From the Wedding
Back in the bridal suite, Emma was furious.
“She shouldn’t even be allowed in the front row now.”
Rachel shook her head.
“No.”
“Rachel.”
“No.”
“She literally tried to remove Dad.”
“She moved a chair.”
“You know what I mean.”
Rachel did.
But she didn’t want revenge.
She wanted the ceremony to happen.
She also didn’t want Ethan to spend his wedding day without his mother.
So Patricia stayed.
The chair stayed too.
